First Release of OPI’s Long Zhi Ren in 2009

According to the news on November 30, Oak Pacific Interactive (OPI) has launched a mysterious new game which has taken 2 years to develop—Long Zhi Ren. It is estimated that the game will have its first technical test at the end of 2009.


In order to make Long Zhi Ren a competitive product, OPI Game has spent 30 million on research and development since the beginning of 2008. Meanwhile, OPI has integrated the R&D teams of its two core games, Cat Tales and Neverland Online, into a more experienced and competitive one. After a 2-year closed R&D, Long Zhi Ren is highly regarded within the company for its unique design and distinctive game features. After a series of internal debugging tests, the game is almost ready for the grand launch.
According to the person concerned, the R&D team of Long Zhi Ren breaks the conventions of current games and combines elements from lots of classical games. The developer states that Long Zhi Ren will adopt a brand-new design, bring unexpected surprises to its players and they are fully confident for the future of the game. However, they haven’t revealed any details related to the game itself.


OPI is one of the largest and pioneering browser-game developers and operators in China. It has great potential and lots of experience in game development and operation. Games by OPI include: Cat Tales, Neverland Online, Three Kingdom Warriors, Empire Craft, Heroes of Mountains & Seas as well as King of War and Age of Ocean (Except the first two games, all are launched in 2009.). OPI’s games are varied, including almost all kinds of browser games such as 3D MMO, web RPG, and web SLG etc. With its advantage of renren.com and mop.com, OPI has attracted tens of millions of players. According to the iResearch-2009 Q3 Chinese Web Game Industry Development Report, the revenue of OPI Game has caught up with The 9, ranking up to 12th. With its abundant user resources and capital accumulation, OPI will most likely be the first web game operator whose revenue can surpass 100 million in a single quarter.


OPI game’s Cat Tales and Neverland Online launched in 2006 and 2008 respectively have got great performance with the promotion on the two web platforms, renren.com and mop.com. At present, Cat Tales has more than 50 million registered users, and PCCU has surpassed 200,000, which makes it the leader of the domestic WebGame market. Meanwhile, Neverland Online stood out from fierce competition among traditional strategy webgames, and was named the “Best WebGame” at the 2008 Chinajoy Golden Plume Awards, and it almost won all the awards for webgames in China from 2008 to 2009.


The release of the new game, Long Zhi Ren, is regarded as an ambitious project by industry professionals. On one hand, it follows OPI’s strategy of excellent R&D and operation; on the other hand, it will strengthen and promote OPI’s position as pioneers in the game industry.
